At Be Good Social, we believe in creating a warm, welcoming online community where everyone feels at home. This Terms of Service isn't filled with complicated legal jargon or confusing text. Instead, we've written it in plain, friendly language because we truly value transparency and trust. That said, there are still some important things we need to go over together, so please take a few minutes to read through our agreement. We want to make sure we all understand how to be in community with one another.
Being in Community
Here's what it means to be part of our community. These friendly guidelines (our "Terms" or "Agreement") cover how we all use the Be Good Social apps, website, and services (our "Social Services").
Be Good Social is designed to help you connect meaningfully with others, share your ideas, and build wonderful relationships within your community. These guidelines explain how our community works and how we can all contribute to making it a great place to be.
PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THROUGH OUR AGREEMENT. BY JOINING OUR COMMUNITY, YOU'RE AGREEING TO THESE TERMS.
If these terms don't feel right for you, we understand, but you won't be able to use our “Social Services”, including our apps or website (our "Community Space").
Your Creations Belong to You
In our community, what's yours stays yours. Unlike many other online spaces, Be Good Social is built on the principle that you maintain ownership and control of everything you create and share. You keep full ownership of all your content and personal information, and we promise never to sell it without your permission. For more details about how we respect your privacy, please read our Privacy Policy. We also provide easy tools for you to take your content with you whenever you wish, in standard formats that work elsewhere.
Reaching Out to Us
When you contact us, you're giving us permission to use the information you've shared to respond and help with your request. For example, if you share your name and email because you'd like to learn more about our community events, we'll use that information to send you the event details you requested.
How We Improve Website
We work hard to make our website better all the time. To do this, we collect minimal information about how the space is being used, but we make sure it's all anonymized so it can't be connected to any individual user. This anonymous information helps us understand how to improve our Community Space and fix any issues that might arise.
Our Community Age Guidelines
Our Social Services are designed for adults (18+), though younger users (13-17) are welcome with the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian. If you're not yet 13, we'll have to ask you to wait a bit before joining our community.
Our Promise to You
We at Be Good Social promise to do our very best to create a reliable, helpful community platform where you can connect with others. While we can't guarantee our services will always be perfect (technology has its quirks!), we're committed to addressing any issues promptly and keeping our community running smoothly.
Changes in the Community
Just like any community evolves over time, Be Good Social’s connections with third-party services may change as they update their own practices. Additionally, our own community may grow and change as we work to better serve everyone. By being part of our community, you understand and embrace these natural evolutions.
Honesty as Policy
In any good community, trust is essential. We ask that the information you share in our community is truthful and really about you, not someone else. If we discover information that seems untrue, inaccurate, outdated, or that doesn't follow our community guidelines, we may need to temporarily or permanently ask you to step away to protect our community's trust and safety.
Working Through Unexpected Challenges Together
While we hope everything runs smoothly, sometimes unexpected issues arise in any community. By joining Be Good Social, you acknowledge that using our Community Space might occasionally have unintended consequences. In the unlikely event of damages related to using our services, we ask that you agree not to hold Be Good Social legally responsible beyond the amount you've paid for our services. We also ask that you help protect Be Good Social and our team members from claims related to how you use our services.
Sharing Your Content in Our Community
When you share content in our community, you're giving us permission to help that content reach others according to your preferences. Specifically, you grant Be Good Social a limited license to host and distribute what you share, but only for the purpose of running our community services. This permission ends when you remove your content or leave our community. Think of it as giving us the keys to help deliver your messages to their intended recipients, but you always retain ownership of the messages themselves.
Our Services as They Are
We offer the Be Good Social community services as they currently exist, without any implied guarantees about how they might meet specific needs. We're constantly improving, but we want to be upfront that we provide our community “as is."
When Events Beyond Our Control Occur
Sometimes life throws curveballs that nobody can control – natural disasters, internet outages, or new government regulations. If something like this prevents us from fulfilling our promises, we ask for your understanding that these circumstances are beyond what any community could reasonably handle.
Respecting Everyone's Privacy
Being in community means respecting each other's privacy. Be Good Social is deeply committed to protecting your personal information and privacy rights. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly how we do this, and we encourage you to read it as it's an important part of our community agreement.
Respecting Our Community's Shared Resources
The text, images, logos, and other content that make up the Be Good Social Community Space and other services belong to us or our partners. While we're happy to have you share our content for educational or news purposes (with proper credit to us), we ask that you don't use our name or materials in ways that might cause confusion or reflect poorly on our community. And please don't try to take apart our software – it helps keep our community running smoothly!
Community Guidelines
To keep our community pleasant for everyone, we don't allow illegal activities or behaviors that harm our community’s atmosphere. We may need to take protective actions if someone's behavior negatively impacts our community. If someone doesn't follow our friendly guidelines, we might need to ask them to leave temporarily or permanently. To ensure we are in community, we all agree not to:
Community Membership and Moving On
We may offer different levels of community participation, including free and paid memberships. If you choose a paid membership, you'll receive clear information about recurring payments before signing up. No matter what type of membership you have, you're always free to leave our community at any time by emailing us at admin@begoodsocial.com. When you leave, we'll stop any future billing, though some aspects of our agreement may continue as needed. This friendly exit policy doesn't apply if we've had to ask you to leave due to not following our community guidelines.
Growing and Evolving Together
Communities naturally evolve over time, and our agreement may need to change as we grow. If we update these terms, we'll post the revised version on our website with a new "last updated" date at the top. Your continued participation in our community after these changes indicates your acceptance of the updated agreement.
Where We Gather
Our community is based in Wyoming and that's where we'll work out any serious disagreements if they ever arise. You agree that any significant issues related to our community will be addressed under Wyoming law and in the courts of Wyoming. If you access our community from elsewhere, you'll still need to follow your local laws as well as our community guidelines.
Getting in Touch
If you have any questions about our neighborhood agreement or just want to say hello, please reach out to us at: admin@begoodsocial.com. We love hearing from our community!
